The next big tournament that is coming up is the Call Of Duty (COD) Mobile World Championships (Stage 5), which is less than 100 days away, and everyone is quite excited about it! The final leg of the COD Mobile World Championships features a massive prize pool of $2 million USD and will be conducted in offline mode from December 9–11. 

So far, 4 stages have taken place for various regions, and the winning teams will go on to represent their nations/regions, and the winner of Stage 5 will be declared the winner of the COD Mobile World Championship 2022! The global event will feature a total of 16 teams from seven different regions around the world. The teams in the finals have advanced through regional qualifiers.

The Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship is the World Championship of the 2022 CODM Competitive Season organised by Activision. Activision has completed all five regional qualifiers. However, the Garena-controlled SEA and the Chinese region have not yet finished the process.

Two teams from India have qualified for the event, along with three each from LATAM, Europe, and North America, and have qualified for Stage 5. Scarz, winners of the Japanese qualifiers, have advanced to the event. Meanwhile, two teams each from China and Southeast Asia will also qualify for the tournament.

Stage 5: Qualified Teams

The following teams have qualified for Stage 5 of the CODM World Championship:

Stage 4 Recap

Godlike Esports won the Indian regional playoffs of the Call of Duty (COD) Mobile World Championship. Godlike defeated Team Vitality by a 4-3 scoreline to win Stage 4 and qualify for the World Championship Final. However, Team Vitality also ended up qualifying for the final event. These are two top-seeded teams from the Indian region.

During the Stage 4 final match, both, Godlike Esports and Team Vitality were neck-on-neck, going 3-3. Eventually, Godlike took the lead in Map 6 sealing their win and earning the Stage 4 prize of $30,000 USD. Meanwhile, Vitality walked away with $15,000 USD for coming in second. Samruddha “SAMs” Ghadge earned the MVP award.

Format

The COD Mobile World Championship is set to be conducted in offline mode from December 9-11. The first stage of the finals will be played in a Swiss format, where all teams that have qualified will compete for the eight playoff slots.

Each side will play until they either win or lose three matches. Teams that have won three matches will move on to the second stage, whereas the remaining teams will be eliminated from the tournament.

At the next stage, sides that lose two matches will be eliminated from the tournament. And, the two remaining teams will compete for the title and the trophy in the World Championship Grand Finals.

During the World Championship, Godlike Esports, who won the regional playoffs in India, will be under the spotlight. This team has clinched a victory in all three of their regional playoffs from 2019 to 2022.

The winner of last year’s World Championship West, Tribe Gaming, has yet again qualified for the Call Of Duty Mobile World Championships.
