IPL 2020, in the game of RCB vs. MI, over 400 runs were scored by the two sides, and Washington Sundar took the limelight by performing brilliantly with his bowling skills. He conceded just 12 runs in his four overs, including knocking off Rohit Sharma which was a crucial wicket for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

This compelled Ravi Shastri, the head coach of the Indian cricket team, to appreciate Washington Sundar’s bowling spell and he took to Twitter lauding and describing the player’s deed as the “best IPL performance so far”.

The all-rounder Sundar is an asset to any team

Sundar, the left-handed top-order batsman and an off-spin bowler had a rather low-key debut, after giving a remarkable performance in the Indian team for the Under-19 World Cup, which was held in Bangladesh. After representing India at the 2016 Under-19 World Cup, he replaced Ashwin in the Rising Pune Supergiant franchise in the 2017 IPL season, and made his Twenty20 debut as a 17-year-old in the IPL. He bowled at an impressive economy rate, thus assisting his team to the finals.

An all-rounder, Sundar is capable of batting anywhere in the order. Since he stepped into IPL, he has been considered an excellent three-dimensional player who can give good overs in the powerplay and perform quite well in the field too. Therefore, the young player has everything that can be considered an asset to any team. Sundar has great discipline in his bowling.

This IPL, with the unpredictability of the game, and the adrenaline rush it offers, all eyes are on Washington Sundar. Will he be able to take RCB to the finals this time?
