George Bailey: The high-performance team has planned to ensure our squad gets to the World Cup fresh
Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, Glenn Maxwell, and Adam Zampa have been rested for the first T20I against England in Perth and the five players will get back to the squad for the second and third T20Is.

Marcus Stoinis, Kane Richardson, Ashton Agar, Mitchell Swepson, and Nathan Ellis will instead be joining the squad at Perth.
However, Stoinis, Richardson, and Agar who have been picked for the T20 World Cup will continue to remain with the squad for the remaining two T20Is against England.
“The high-performance team and selectors have planned these matches to ensure our squad gets to the World Cup fresh and ready to perform,”
Chair of Selectors George Bailey said.
“Some squad members traveled to Perth early to begin preparations slightly earlier than the main squad and a handful of others will not make the trip to Perth.
“With some players remaining on the east coast, it provides further opportunity for Nathan Ellis and Daniel Sams who both performed well in India.
“Likewise Mitchell Swepson was a part of last year’s World Cup squad and continues to provide good depth in our T20 spin bowling department.”
All-rounder Cameron Green who hasn’t been chosen for the World Cup but impressed as an opener in particular lately retains his spot in the squad against England.
Australia will host the upcoming T20 World Cup, starting on October 16.
