With the help of 64 runs against Islamabad United Babar Azam sets a record in T20i Cricket

On Thursday in Lahore, during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season eight Eliminator match against Islamabad United, Babar Azam became the fastest player to reach the milestone of 9,000 runs in T20 cricket.

Babar Azam only needed 35 runs before today’s game to reach the milestone, which he completed easily because of some outstanding shots.

In his 39-ball inning against United, the captain of Zalmi smashed 10 fours, creating the ideal base for his team. In the 13th over, Shadab Khan, the captain of United, caught him LBW.

In the shortest version of the game, Babar Azam took just 27 innings to go from 8,000 to 9,000 runs.

At the Gaddafi Stadium, Islamabad chose to bowl first after winning the toss and selecting Peshawar as their opponent. With the support of 10 fours, Babar Azam scored 64 runs in 39 balls.

The winner of today’s game advances to tomorrow’s second Eliminator, which is scheduled to occur at the same location.

To secure their place in the PSL 8 championship game, Multan Sultans overcame Lahore Qalandars in yesterday’s qualifier. In contrast, the second Eliminator will provide the defending champions another opportunity to advance to the final.

Babar Azam, a powerful batsman for Pakistan, is the captain of Peshawar, while Shadab Khan, an all-arounder, is in charge of Islamabad, the reigning champions. During the league stage of the PSL 8, each team had one victory in head-to-head play.

After Babar and Gayle (271), David Warner (273) and Virat Kohli (271). Aaron Finch (281) is the fastest player to cross the 9k barrier

In addition, Babar has eight T20 hundreds, which is the most of any batsman in the globe since 2019. Jos Buttler, who has six centuries, is next on the list.

Babar Azam earlier proved to be at his best during the 27th game of the league as the right-handed batter hit another 50 – the fastest 50 of his T20 career.

In the game against Multan Sultans, the Zalmi captain reached his fourth fifty, completing the feat in just 24 balls.

The right-handed batsman contributed to Zalmi’s 242-6 total in 20 overs with a score of 73 from 39 balls. Also, it was his 83rd 50+ score in T20s.

Babar also reached another milestone just two days earlier, during the tournament’s 25th match. The captain recorded his first century in the PSL.

Babar was able to silence his haters after scoring 115 runs at a strike rate of 171.66 during a match against the Quetta Gladiators at the Pindi Cricket Stadium. 15 fours and three maximums made up his knock.

Since the debut season of Pakistan’s premier league, the captain of the national team has played 76 innings and scored 2893 runs in the PSL alone. Babar currently has 28 50s to his credit in addition to his one tonne, which he crushed during the current season. In the PSL seasons that he played in, Babar hit 316 fours and 46 sixes.
