One player which has always been in news for his performance in IPL is Glenn Maxwell. After his release from Punjab Kings because of the poor performance in last season of Indian Premier League, many believed that Maxwell will find it hard to find takers at the auction in IPL 2021, but he was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for ₹14.25 crore in February.

In no doubt, Maxwell started this season with a blast by scoring 39 runs in RCB’s first match against CSK & against SRH, he was again on the roll & scored half century.

The commendable observation with his performance in this season is that only with his three opportunities he has scored 176 runs & this number is more than what he did in the last season of IPL. This will surely give him a boost in his confidence for future matches.

Micheal Vaughan has come forward taken his side & he feels that RCB is the right place for Maxwell.

“Glenn Maxwell is an incredible cricketer. He has never really flown in the IPL. Like we said about Moeen Ali, Chennai appears to be the spiritual fit for him and the right kind of franchise for Moeen Ali. I really feel RCB is the right franchise for Glenn Maxwell,”

he said.

Explaining the reason behind his opinion, Vaughan said

“Here, he is under the radar, because you have got Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, he is like at the third position, whereas in other teams, he is the one from who usually expectations are high. But now he can sneak under the radar and probably he is not getting as much attention as he gets at other teams. Because there is Virat there, and there is AB de Villiers there. I think it’s been a smart move. Maxwell is a great signing this year for RCB”,

he added.
