In the first double-header of the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals came out on top as Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings were left ruing their mistakes at the end of the day.

RCB started the day in the second position in the league table and climbed back to the top after their 38-run win over KKR. On the other hand, DC was in the fourth position and climbed to second after their comfortable 6-wicket victory over PBKS.

Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals will be involved in an intense battle on Monday to decide which team ends up in the top half of the table with 4 points and which team joins KKR, PBKS, and SRH in the bottom half of the table with a mere 2 points.

The Delhi ace has 186 runs in three matches with Maxwell in second with 176 runs. Rahul, Rana, and ABD are next on the list with 157, 155, and 125 runs respectively.

Harshal Patel started the day with the purple cap on his head and his excellent figures of 2/17 in 4 overs ensured that none of his rivals even came close to touching the prestigious ‘Purple Cap’. The 30-year old is clear at the top with 9 wickets in 3 matches with Rahul Chahar trailing the Haryana fast bowler with 7 wickets in 3 matches. Andre Russell, Avesh Khan, and Trent Boult have 6 wickets each in 3 matches.
