Avesh Khan fulfils long-time dream of MS Dhoni’s wicket

He may have retired from international cricket but the name of Mahendra Singh Dhoni still terrorises best of bowlers and bowling attacks. Once a murderer of best bowling attacks around the world  and across formats, Dhoni achieved the feat of being an invincible batsman towards the ending stages of the match especially in the Indian Premier League (IPL), playing for Chennai Super Kings. 

Not only his fearless batting or his trademark helicopter shots that would clear the biggest of grounds with ease, Mahendra Singh Dhoni relate one of the most dangerous batsmen when in-form. 

But lack of cricket, especially top-flight cricket which the current cricketers have been playing for the past few months, would be a huge factor for the Chennai Super Kings captain and plenty of its players to overcome. 

Did Chennai Super Kings captain look a little rusty in the opening match of IPL 2021 against Delhi capital’s, as he was dismissed on the second ball by a young and budding fast bowler, who is being touted as the next in line for the Indian pace attack.

Avesh Khan and go through the defence of Dhoni on the second ball that the CSK captain faced on Saturday, which was not just another wicket for the right arm fast bowler, but it was actually a dream come true.

Avesh was quoted as saying by Delhi Capitals,

“Three years ago, I had a chance to take Mahi bhai’s wicket, but somebody had dropped the catch. But now my dream of taking Mahi bhai’s wicket is fulfilled, so I am very happy about it. Since he has not played competitive matches for some time, we had planned to put pressure on him and because of that pressure I could take his wicket.”
