A state championship will be organized in the upcoming months by the Himachal Pradesh state member unit.

Despite the different limitations on tournaments that are connected with the epidemiological situation, hockey players in Himachal Pradesh have started to train.

As a result of the resumption of training, it became necessary to hold competitions. For this reason, the Union Home Ministry and Hockey India issued guidelines for training keeping in mind the Covid-19. Around 60 players between the ages of 18 and 21 have started to train in the hill state. State units have already received instructions for the restoration of sporting events. Since restarting sports activities on August 19 the chief coaches and players are following the set protocol at the Sports Authority of India campus in Bengaluru.

“We received full SOP and guidelines from Hockey India. It was a critical factor in restarting sports activities in Himachal Pradesh. Our officials and players are absolutely inspired to be back on the pitch,”

said Romesh Pathania, Hockey Himachal general secretary.

Administration carefully ensures that players don’t exert too much pressure on the field and follow the protocol correctly. For the players, it’s essential to start gradually and steadily increase the intensity of their training sessions every day.
