The men’s hockey club team ONGC continues to train and prepares for the Olympic Games

Sumit is Indian men’s hockey team midfielder. He says next year’s Asian Champions Trophy will be an ideal platform to test their level ahead of the Tokyo Olympics after staying out of action for months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Following the pandemic-induced gap, the Indian team will return international duty at the continental competition listed to be held in Dhaka in March next year, provided there are no travel limitations due to the health crisis.

Sumit said that his team has been fortunate to resume training to hone their skills.

“The Asian Champions Trophy will prove the level we are at and how much we will need to develop ahead of the Olympic Games further,”

said Sumit.

It is known that in connection with the pandemic, all competitions were cancelled. However, the teams will continue matches between themselves. Sumit also said that thanks to high-intensive training, his team has excellent form both mentally and physically.
