In the opening game of the 2011 World Cup in Dhaka, against Bangladesh, Kohli scored an unbeaten century to set the stage for a spectacular start to his career.

After a year, he became the first player to achieve the feat of scoring fifty runs in his first T20 World Cup match against Afghanistan and a hundred runs in his first Men’s ODI World Cup match.

With a fifty in the 2014 T20 World Cup and a century on the opening day of the 2015 ODI World Cup, Aaron Finch equaled this feat.

In ten ODI innings from February to October of 2018, Kohli scored almost 1000 runs. Between his 197th and 206th ODI innings, Kohli scored 995 runs at an average of 142.14, with five hundred and three fifties.

For any batter, it’s the greatest 10-inning ODI streak. He broke David Warner’s previous record of 857 runs scored between October 2016 and June 2017 by 138 runs.
