Dream 11, IPL 2020; RCB’s skipper, Virat Kohli blames the tactics of players. He said the players were not brave enough with the bat that resulted in a defeat, with the margin of 5-wickets against SRH.

Kohli blames the players for being out-classed by SRH

Royal Challengers Bangalore faced Sun Risers Hyderabad today in match number 51, IPL 2020. RCB batted first and their batsman could not perform well as they keep losing wickets in every other over. Another reason for their loss is the defensive style of cricket played by their batsman. Kohli blames the upper-order and middle-order batsman for being defensive and not playing their natural attacking game.

Batting first they scored 120 runs on the board with the loss of 7 wickets. Australian opener Josh Philippe was the lead runs scorer. Kohli himself could not take his team out the bad situation and failed to perform. SRH on the other hand put a great show and defeated RCB to make the race for playoffs more exciting. SRH chased the target in just 14.1 overs with 5 wickets in hand. After defeating RCB, they are now moved to the 4th place in the points table.

This huge loss could not stop Kohli from speaking against the bad tactics used by their batsman. Kohli believed that 120 runs were not enough for their opponent. Adding at least 20 more runs might have a different result.

“It was never enough. We thought 140 might be a good total to sort of getting into the game on that kind of wicket. We weren’t brave enough with the bat throughout the innings and credit to them – they used the pitch well and the change of pace,”

said the skipper during post-match conference.

He also said that we did not predict well enough about the dew factor which their opponent took a great deal. In the second innings, the game changed drastically.

“Things changed drastically in the second innings. There was a lot of dew which we didn’t quite predict, they got it right at the toss eventually. In the end, it was very difficult to hold the ball,”

he continued.

RCB has to ensure their win in the final match of the league against Delhi Capitals for maintaining the spot in 2nd place.
