England is not willing to take any risk but Jos Buttler may come back in the T20Is

Jos Buttler, England limited-overs skipper will continue to do rest following his recovery from the calf strain that forced him to miss the four T20Is against Pakistan in the ongoing series.

Mathew Pott, England’s white-ball bowling coach says that they are not willing to take any risk regarding Jos Buttler but also hinted that the right-hand batter could feature in the last two of the seven-match T20I series against Pakistan.

Jos Buttler, England limited-overs skipper will continue to do rest following his recovery from the calf strain that forced him to miss the four T20Is against Pakistan in the ongoing series.

“With regard to Jos, he’s still a while off, he’s not a player we want to take a risk on at this stage, so close to the World Cup, and it was a reasonably significant injury that he had,”

Mott said at the press conference following Pakistan’s series-levelling victory in the fourth T20I.

“So, he’s champing at the bit for a game, but we’ll just try and see how we go and maybe in the last game or two we might give him a chance,”

added Mott.

It has been a close contest series so far with both teams facing victories and defeats. Liam Dawson almost pulled it off for England in the fourth T20I, while chasing 167.

His 34 off 17 helped England make a recovery from 130/7 to 162 before Haris Rauf turned the tide in the favour of Pakistan.

“Taking wickets in the powerplay put us on the back foot, it took a really good partnership to get us back in it,”

Mott said.

“Liam’s knock was special. It took everyone by surprise, we didn’t think in our wildest dreams we’d get in that position. It just shows in T20 cricket you’ve never got it done.”
