There could be a new Gold Standard in WWE soon
The WWE may witness the emergence of a new “Gold Standard”. This could be in the form of The Hurt Business who could potentially win more gold and add to their championship tally that currently consists of United States Champion Bobby Lashley. The new gold standard could come in the form of Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander.
Both Benjamin and Alexander have made their intentions clear of going for the WWE RAW Tag Team Championships. This match could take place as early as next week Monday Night RAW. These superstars, currently a part of The Hurt Business managed to defeat the tag team champions The New Day this week on RAW; and during the match both Benjamin and Alexander looked strong.
Hence, it would not be an exaggeration to state that The Hurt Business could get more gold in the form of these championships. Of late, The Hurt Business have picked up consecutive wins over strong superstars; even Lashley’s victory for the United States title proved that the push for The Hurt Business would be real. Their destruction of Retribution and the win over the tag team champions this week has proved that the push is indeed real.
Therefore, with this victory, The Hurt Business could be closing in on the tag titles. Here, remember that Shelton Benjamin is a veteran in WWE and already a multi-time tag team champion. He was also known as the Gold Standard in his earlier run with WWE. He could now, with the help of Alexander, capture the tag titles one more time and add to the gold tally of The Hurt Business.
Finally, WWE needs a new face as the tag team champions. The New Day have held this position for at least six years. A completely fresh tag team such as The Street Profits (on Smackdown) would do the company a world of good. Benjamin and Alexander deserve their current push and should be going over The New Day soon.
