SAI supported star shuttler Kidambi Srikanth request of bringing his Coach to Denmark

Kidambi Srikanth’s is part of the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) and got full support from the SAI. SAI will bear the cost of Srikanth’s Covid-19 test. He is permitted to reach the venue early, along with his coach. Along with Kidambi Srikanth, Saina Nehwal and Lakshya Sen are also participating in the tournament.

Some of the important players decided not to participate in the Denmark Open. The doubles category top players N Sikki Reddy and Ashwini Ponnappa will not be competing in the event. PV Sindhu pulled out of the Denmark Open, stating that she is preparing to participate in three Asian championships scheduled in November. She mentioned that she is looking to participating in the Thomas and Uber Cup, but it was postponed because multiple players pulled out due to the prevailing pandemic. Kidambi Srikanth is among the few players traveling to participate in the Denmark Open. On Saturday Sports Authority of India (SAI) gave approval to his request.

With more and more coronavirus cases and the tournaments being canceled or postponed, the support is the need of the hour, and the Sports Authority of India is providing the support that the badminton players need in the current situation.
